Review the image above. Go to the eMarketer Admin area and click on the menus.
Familiarize yourself with the screens that come up when you click on the menu. |

What is the EDIT CATEGORIES Menu For? and What is the EDIT PRODUCTS
Menu For? |
|
I will cover these two topics together.
For FUMC, a Category is a Ministry Group. This is the highest level.
The next highest levels are the groups within the Category, or the Products. For example, in FUMC's case a sub-group for the Category Adult Ministry might be
Men's Ministry, Women's Ministry, etc. It is important that you give careful thought to Categories and Products, as they establish the information around which
you will run your eMarketing campaign. The images below illustrate the detail pages in the Admin area for the Categories and for the Products.

Edit Categories |
Edit Products |
Categories and Products can be added using the Add New Info
function, and then filling in the information. The Products screen shows the Parent Category. Both screens show whether the Category or
Product is active by checking or unchecking the box next to the magnifying glass icon. Experiment with the menus and
you will immediately see how they function.

The DISPLAYED SIGN-UP FIELDS Menu, The EXTRA SIGNUP FIELDS Menu,
and The EDIT SIGN-UP GREETING Menu
These 3 topics are very closely related. I will cover them together.
The VeM has a standard set of Displayed Sign-Up Fields. You may display or hide any
of the fields by checking our unchecking the box. You can shuffle the order in which they appear. Again, experiment with the menus and the functionality will
become clear after just a few minutes of use.
If the
Displayed Sign-Up Fieldsdo not cover the information you which to capture from visitors, then you can add Extra Sign-Up
Fields by clicking on that menu. Figures 9 and 10 respectively illustrate those screens.

Edit Sign-Up Greeting |
The Edit Sign-Up Greeting
shown in Step 5 is where you customize the Thank You message that is sent to visitors when they fill out the eMarketer form. The sign-up greeting is
determined by the text you place in the last text box. You can customize the Subject of the email and the
name on the Submitbutton. Checking or unchecking the Double Opt-in boxes will send or not send the message in
the Double Opt-in text box. Checking the Vcard box will include your electronic business card in the send.
You must have a valid email address in the
Contacts Email
text box, or the visitor will not get a Thank You and you will never receive his/her message. For
completeness, be sure to include your
Company Name andCompany Webpage
address.

Comparing What You See in Admin vs What
a Visitor Sees on the Site
In this case the Edit Sign-Up Greeting, Extra Sign-Up fields, and Displayed Sign-Up fields were set by FUMC's
Internet Consultant. The FUMC Office may change these fields as they wish to meet changing plans in their ministry.
Return to Lesson 01. Carefully study the images and enlarged images of Step 3, L1 thru Step 5, L1. |
